Training Details

Training is designed for beginners and no prior experience is necessary. Training is offered in-person at Milestones Psychology in New York, NY.  Training will focus on development of skills to implement Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to fidelity in accordance with the PCIT International Training Guidelines. PCIT is an evidence-based parent management program for families who have children with difficult behaviors. There are two phases to PCIT: Child-Directed Interaction (CDI) and Parent-Directed Interaction (PDI). This training will focus on teaching the basic skills necessary for both phases of PCIT. Topics will include: 1) identifying the theoretical background of PCIT, 2) identifying appropriate cases for PCIT, 3) completing evidence-based assessment for PCIT including administration and interpretation of the ECBI and DPICS-IV coding system, 4) teaching the CDI and PDI skills, 5) mastering the CDI and PDI skills as a clinician, and 6) demonstrating CDI and PDI coaching competencies. Training will be active, participant-focused, and clinically-relevant with opportunities for participants to learn from each other through discussions, activities, and review of cases. Our training is currently in the process of applying for CE credits. CE certificates will be awarded by mail to all participants who complete the 40-hrs. There is an additional fee of $45 per person for those seeking APA CEs. Certification certificates will be sent within 30 days of the training session. Partial credit cannot be offered per APA. There is no commercial support for this CE program.

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 will be due upon registration. The remaining balance will be due in full Wednesday, August 14th, 2019.
