Renee Soufer, PhD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works collaboratively with children, adolescents, and their families to promote emotional well-being, strengthen parent–child relationships, and support positive developmental trajectories. I take a family-centered approach, valuing each caregiver’s insight and partnering closely with parents to build understanding, confidence, and practical strategies that fit within the context of daily life.
I have specialized training in evidence-based treatments including Supportive Parenting for Anxious Children and Adolescents (SPACE), Parent–Child Interaction Training (PCIT), Motivational Interviewing, and Parent Management Training (PMT). My therapeutic work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based strategies, and I also integrate attachment- and mentalization-informed approaches when helpful. I provide structured parent guidance and coaching, offering clear, practical tools that families can use across home, school, and community settings. My style emphasizes warmth, transparency, and shared decision-making, while honoring each family’s strengths, values, and cultural context.
In addition to therapeutic intervention, I bring extensive experience in developmentally informed evaluations for autism spectrum disorder and related neurodevelopmental differences. I integrate assessment findings into thoughtful formulations that guide intervention planning and educational supports, while helping families make sense of complex information in ways that feel meaningful and actionable.
I also partner with schools, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support consistent, collaborative approaches that benefit the child and family system as a whole. I am committed to fostering environments where families feel heard, empowered, and equipped with tools that build confidence and resilience.
I am licensed in New York and Connecticut and bring a warm, collaborative, and thoughtful presence to my work with families. As a mother of two young children and a resident of Riverside, I am thrilled to be a part of the Milestones Psychology practice here in Greenwich. It’s a wonderful opportunity to serve the families in our community, while also providing expert, empathic care tailored to the unique needs of each family.
